CUSTODIAL PROVISION

Custodial Provision

The PYE Project currently provides weekly provision in several young offender institutions and has previously worked with males and females in adult prisons.
 

We specialise in effective resettlement and violence reduction work through long-term group work or one-off events. Our provision can also include music production and lyric writing, which we have found highly successful as a motivator for communication with young people in custody.

Street Diversion

Street Diversion is designed to address the offending behaviour of young people within the criminal justice system and is delivered to young people serving custodial sentences in young offender institutions.

Aims:

  • To reduce the seriousness or frequency of further offending by utilizing a cognitive-behavioural approach.
  • Challenge the thinking and moral reasoning underpinning the individual’s offending behaviour.
  • Reduce violence within the youth offending institution.

Outcome:

  • Engage with the course content and articulate opinions and feelings.
  • Attitudinal and behavioural changes that are sustainable.
  • Evaluate the thought processes that led to offending behaviour and devise personal solutions to prevent re-offending.
